The platform
The DEMORHET/READy platform brings together researchers and representatives of teacher associations from across the Nordic-Baltic region. It was established through the 2022 ReNEW workshop Teaching Democratic Participation in the Nordics and Beyond: Civic Communication Practices in Secondary School and further developed within the DEMORHET and READy projects. The network’s purpose is to advance the study of rhetorical citizenship as both a pedagogical and civic concept in secondary education, with particular attention to how communicative skills are cultivated in language and civics classrooms and how rhetorical training can contribute to democratic resilience.
